Veho VCC-003 / 2GB / Muvi Micro DV Camcorder

For this price there is not many micro camcorder's that have the same quality and feel to them. In regards to baronn's review I had a slight problem with installing the SD card into it too, I was expecting the card to make a clicking noise. Unlike other memory cards you do not push the memory card inwards to eject it, there is no spring action. I used a tiny jewellers screwdriver to get it out. They are the micro SD cards used in mobile phones so can be fiddly. I'm using a 4GB card so I don't have to keep taking it out and really once it is in you don't need bigger capacity. This is because the battery will run out by the time it fills 4GB so at that point I'd be uploading my movies anyway / recharging it. Charging is done via a mini-USB to USB cable, you can get an adaptor for the mains for it. To install the card look on the side for a tiny diagram to get which orientation it goes. Pictures are in 640x480 and work in suprisingly low light conditions, don't expect a zoom!, which doesn't sound much, but it comes with sound and for the size I can't find anything close. Apart from the clip this is not a completely plastic, fall apart in a week, job. It feels solid and for it's size feels heavy too.

It has a voice activation switch on the side too, only sounds above 62dB will trigger it which is pretty loud. It will turn itself off after exactly 30 seconds of inactivity (yes I did time it!) which is a good feature because it only has 3 hours of life to it, but you do need to press the top button twice to start recording when it goes idle.

Taking everything into account, picture quality, sound quality, price, battery life, size, build quality I can only give this 5/5. If you want higher resolution pictures get the HD version but expect it to be considerably bigger!

Great Little micro camcorder for sporting activities or for recording on the go in your vehicle, such as 4x4 greenlining. Obviously there's no display so it's a little tricky to get the camera at the right angle but the second time I used it I got it aligned perfectly!.. the battery life is only 3 hrs of recording (if it runs out and it's still recording it will not finalise the clip and you will loose everything in that recording session, so remember to stop and start the recording every now and again, but for the price I can't complain!

Ideal for paintball (that's what I use it for), although I need to sort out some sort of waterproofing case as the Muvi waterproof case is absolutely rubbish, I have received two off play and both case catches have broken just by simply inserting the camera into the case! avoid the waterproof case! however I strongly recommend the Extreme Sports Pack! for 5 quid its ideal, considering I paid three times more for the package when I bought… more »

Great little camera with lots of uses.- Only down side is the audio is not fantastic but for the size I can't grumble!
